It is well endorsed by college students and many other people in America. There is no food that attracts Americans like Pizza. It is literally considered the slice of heaven. Pizza has developed in America through different phases and stages.The initial stages in when Pizza was developed by Italian migrants. They made the Pizza and sold them in the streets for fellow Italians. Prices were very low and at that moment pizza was only for the poor Italians. Pizza was introduced to Italy by King Umberto I and Queen Margherita. The two visited Naples the or igin of Pizza. They tasted the food after they became bored of their normal routine. King Umberto I and Queen Margherita ordered the Pizza from Pizzeria Brandi (Turim n.p). Queen Margherita blessed Pizza and made sure that it was introduced in Italy.The second phase was the licensing of Pizza restaurants. A span of restaurants started being developed in many parts of America after the first one was licensed. However, at that moment, the restaurants still entertained mainly the Italians. Gennaro Lombardi applied for the first license to make and sell pizza in 1905 (Genovese, 84). His store was located at a thriving Italian-American neighborhood. Joes Tomato Pies sprout up in Trenton, New Jersey in 1912. In 1922 Antony Pero left Lombardis to open Tontonnos in Coney Island. . In 1925, Frank Pepe started his eponymous pizzeria in New Haven. All the restaurants had poorly educated Italian Migrants working in the restaurants. Pizza at that time was still very cheap and affordable to the poor.
